6. Lymphatic Drainage

  1. Superficial lymphatics of the lower limb travel with the great saphenous veininguinal nodes (horizontal and vertical groups).
  2. Deep lymphatics accompany the deep femoral and popliteal veinsdeep inguinal nodesexternal iliac nodes.
  3. Clinical relevance: Lymphadenopathy in inguinal nodes may indicate infections of the lower limb, malignancies (e.g., melanoma of the foot), or pelvic pathology.
