Headline: There is no war in Ba Sing Se. Just perfectly aligned cobblestones. 🌲🏰
Body: Is there anything more satisfying than a perfectly symmetrical Anno 1503 layout?
I used to obsess over efficiency, but lately, I’ve been focusing on the "Organic Layout." anno 1503 layout
- Winding roads along the coast 🌊
- Forests planted behind the Hunter's lodge 🦌
- A distinct "Rich District" near the Cathedral ✨
It might not be the most mathematically efficient production line, but watching the sunset hit the stone walls of my city center makes the micromanagement worth it.
Do you play for the stats or the scenery?

The 9x9 Block
This is the gold standard. You will need a 9x9 tile area (including roads). Here are a few options for a post
- External Roads: A perimeter road of 2 tiles wide (to allow fire wagons to pass).
- Internal Grid: A 3x3 grid of houses, separated by 1 tile roads.
- The Center: You cannot build houses in the center of a 9x9 block. Instead, place a Small Fountain or a Tree. This negates the slum penalty and increases upgrade chance.
Total Residences per block: 8 houses. Space efficiency: 80%.
Option 3: The "Help Needed" (Best for Discord/Community Questions)
Use this if you want to start a discussion or are stuck.
Headline: Help with late-game Anno 1503 layouts? 🤯
Body: I’m hitting the population cap at around 2000 Aristocrats and my layout is falling apart. Winding roads along the coast 🌊 Forests planted
I’m struggling to fit the necessary supply chains (Jewelry, Perfume, Lamps) onto the main island without creating massive traffic jams or fire hazards.
Current Issues:
- The Ore mines take up way too much mountain space.
- I can't fit the Cathedral + University without demolishing half my residential block.
Does anyone have a blueprint for a high-population layout? Should I just be importing all my luxury goods at this stage? Any screenshots of your end-game maps would be a lifesaver!
