Legitimate ANSYS 17.0 requires:

- RAM: Minimum 8 GB (16–64 GB typical for real-world models)
- Storage: 25–40 GB for full installation
- GPU: For graphics, a dedicated OpenGL-capable card (NVIDIA Quadro series preferred)
4.1 ANSYS Student (Free)
ANSYS offers a free Student version (currently based on 2024 R2, but older versions back to 17.0 are not available — the latest is always recommended). The student version includes:
- Complete Workbench, Mechanical, Fluent (limited mesh size), and more.
- Limitations: Node limit of 512k for structural, 1M cells for CFD, no HPC.
- License: Free for one year, renewable as a student.
