B. Graphics Driver

• Scenario 1: Integrated Only (Intel HD 3000)
  • This driver handles the display and HDMI output.
  • Source: Intel Download Center. Note: Intel has legacy drivers for HD 3000, but they are no longer updated for Windows 10/11. Windows Update usually provides a working Microsoft WDDM driver.
• Scenario 2: Switchable Graphics (NVIDIA Optimus)
  • If your K53S has an NVIDIA sticker (GT 610M/520MX), you have switchable graphics.
  • Installation Order: You must install the Intel HD 3000 driver first, followed by the NVIDIA driver.
  • Source: NVIDIA website. Use their automated scanner to find the correct Game Ready driver for the GeForce 610M.

7) Rollback and uninstall

• If a driver causes problems: Device Manager → device → Properties → Driver → Roll Back Driver (if available) or Uninstall Device (tick “Delete the driver software for this device” only if you plan to reinstall a different driver).
• Use Safe Mode to uninstall problematic drivers if normal mode fails.

3.5 Touchpad Driver

Without the proprietary ELAN or Sentelic driver, your touchpad may work only as a basic pointing device – no scrolling, no pinch-to-zoom, and no palm rejection. Always install the driver from ASUS’s support page first.
