  1. The Hanged Man’s Clearing – A corpse dangles from a yew. Search its pockets for a Rusted Key and a letter addressed to you: “You were never a hero, Eira.” This triggers a memory flashback (press X to endure).

    • Hidden item: Behind the tree, buried under leaves – Locket of Unborn Child (critical for the "Mercy" ending).
  2. The Bell of Sighs – Locked in a chapel overrun with thorn vines. Use the Rusted Key. Inside, a Wailing Shade attacks. It cannot be killed, only pacified.

    • Solution: Do not fight. Play the lullaby from the locket using the chapel’s music box (press interact in sequence: left, right, middle, left). The shade becomes a crying woman. She gives you the First Dirge.

Return to the shrine gate. Ring the three bells in order: Sighs, Mercy, Remorse. The gate opens. Enemy type : Echo Phantoms – they copy your movements


Ending 2: The Broken Cycle (Neutral Ending)

Requirements: Defeat the Shadow without the Oath.
