Even if you manage to bypass the installer (by copying a portable version), the software often crashes with a "Runtime Error 217 at 004BB10D" (or similar memory addresses). Scenario B: Installing Older Autodata (Pre-3.8) on Windows 11

For legacy versions, you must use Compatibility Mode:

1. Right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility tab.
2. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for → Select Windows 10 or Windows 7.
3. Check Disable fullscreen optimizations.
4. Check Change high DPI settings → Under "High DPI scaling override," select Application.
5. Install as usual.
