3. Core Mechanics
Controls (minimal):
- Move (left/right)
- Dash (short burst, consumes dash charge)
- Snap/Lock (brief freeze mid-air to redirect momentum)

- Ground-stomp / Drop (fast vertical descent)
Key systems:
- Momentum physics: velocity carries through dashes; dash direction adds impulse.
- Dash charges: limited recharge on ground or via pickups; advanced play uses charge conservation.
- Snap mechanic: allows micro-corrections, reversing small trajectory errors at the cost of a cooldown.
- Combo/Chain scoring: consecutive obstacle clears and near-miss interactions build multiplier.
- Dynamic hazards: moving saws, timed lasers, collapsing platforms, gravity wells.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
If you are struggling to get past Level 15 of Dimension 2, you are likely making one of these errors: dashmetry game
- Over-charging the dash: You don't need a full bar for every gap. Often, a short tap is safer.
- Ignoring the trail: Your ship leaves a geometric trace. If that trace intersects an obstacle, you die. The hitbox is slightly larger than the visual model.
- Panic dashing: When the screen gets busy, novices spam the dash button. This resets your momentum and usually launches you into a wall. Take a breath. The game is slower than you think.
4. Chrono Meter Hoarding
Do not use the Chrono Meter (slow motion) to pass hard sections. Use it only to collect prism chains. If you collect 5 prisms in a row while time is slowed, you trigger a "Prism Storm," which refills your dash bar instantly and gives you invincibility frames for two seconds. Dashmetry Game — Paper 3
