Report: Downloading Android 7.1.2 for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5100)

Install the Samsung USB drivers on your PC and restart.
Boot the GT-P5100 into Download Mode (Power off → hold Volume Down + Power → press Volume Up when warned).
Open Odin3 v3.13.1 as Administrator on your PC.
Connect your tablet via USB. Odin should show Added! and a blue COM port box.
Click the AP (or PDA) button in Odin. Select the twrp_3.1.1-0_espresso3g.tar file.
Important: Uncheck “Auto Reboot” in Odin Options.
Click Start. Odin will flash TWRP in 3 seconds. Wait for “PASS!” in green.
Manually reboot to recovery: Disconnect USB. Press and hold Volume Up + Power until you see TWRP logo.

No custom ROM is perfect. Here are the known issues for Android 7.1.2 on the GT-P5100:

SIM Card / 3G: Mobile data works, but switching from Wi-Fi to 3G may require a toggle of Airplane mode.
Bluetooth: Works for audio but may stutter when Wi-Fi is under heavy load (hardware limitation, not ROM bug).
Camera: The rear 3.15MP camera works; the front VGA camera is very slow in low light.
YouTube: Maximum resolution is 720p (device limitation). Do not try 1080p or 60fps.

Immediate steps to take:

Connect to Wi-Fi (Works fine on 2.4GHz b/g/n).
Sign into Google – Restore your apps if desired.
Disable animations for speed:
- Go to Settings > About Tablet > Tap "Build Number" 7x.
- Developer Options > Set Window/Transition/Animator scale to 0.5x or Off.
Expand storage – Adoptable storage is supported. Insert a fast SD card (Class 10/U1) and format it as internal storage to expand the 1GB app limit.
