Project Setup: When starting a new project in EDIUS 11, critical parameters like frame rate must be set correctly at the start, as they cannot be changed later. It is recommended to use 8-bit video depth for standard projects and match the render format to your project resolution.

How to Set an Edit Zone

There are two main ways to define your zone:

1. The Keyboard Shortcuts (The Pro Way):

   • Move your timeline cursor to where you want the selection to start. Press I to set the In Point.
   • Move the cursor to where you want the selection to end. Press O to set the Out Point.
   • You will now see a blue highlighted section in the timeline ruler, bounded by two blue arrows.

2. The Mouse Method:

   • Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard.
   • Click and drag across the timeline ruler at the top of the window. This creates a selection region instantly.

(Tip: To clear an existing Edit Zone, simply right-click on the timeline ruler and select "Clear In/Out," or double-click the ruler area.)

Creating a New Zone

To create a new Zone in Edius:
