I’ve organized them by topic (best for B2, as thematic learning is proven more effective than random lists).
1. Education & Work
- acquire — to gain or obtain (skills, knowledge). — She acquired advanced programming skills at university.
- attain — to achieve or reach (a goal/standard). — He attained a high level of fluency after two years.
- curriculum — the set of courses or content taught. — The school updated its curriculum last year.
- deadline — the latest time for submission. — The project deadline is Friday.
- evaluate — to judge or assess. — The teacher evaluated our presentations.
5. B2 Academic & Professional Words
- Analyze – to examine in detail
- Concept – an abstract idea
- Data – information (used with singular or plural verb)
- Environment – the surroundings or nature
- Factor – one of the elements causing a result
- Method – a way of doing something
- Process – a series of actions
- Research – systematic study (noun & verb)
- Source – where something comes from
- Variable – something that can change
Step 2: The 4-Sentence Rule
For every new B2 word, write 4 sentences: english vocabulary b2 list best
- About your past (Personally relevant).
- About your job/studies (Academic).
- About global news (Abstract).
- A question you could ask a partner.
Example using "Apprehensive":
- (Past) "I was apprehensive about moving to a new city, but it turned out great."
- (Study) "Students are often apprehensive before the oral exam."
- (News) "Economists are apprehensive about the future of the housing market."
- (Question) "Have you ever felt apprehensive about a major life decision?"
