Eplan Electric P8 System Requirements Exclusive 〈2027〉
EPLAN Electric P8 (Versions 2024/2025) requires a 64-bit Windows system equipped with a multicore processor supporting AVX2 instructions, at least 16 GB of RAM, and SSD storage for optimal performance. A dedicated GPU with 4GB+ VRAM is recommended for 3D Pro Panel work, along with a 1920x1080 or higher resolution display. For complete, up-to-date specifications, visit EPLAN Help Portal. Software and hardware requirements until end of 2024
Running EPLAN Electric P8, especially the latest 2025 and 2026 versions, requires a modern 64-bit workstation. Because it is a data-heavy ECAD tool, performance relies heavily on your processor's instruction set and memory capacity. Hardware Requirements
For a smooth experience with the current EPLAN Platform, these are the recommended specifications:
Processor: Multicore CPU with AVX2 (Advanced Vector Extensions) support. Memory (RAM): Minimum 16 GB. eplan electric p8 system requirements
Hard Drive: At least 500 GB total capacity, with a minimum of 50 GB free space. An SSD is strongly recommended for database performance.
Monitor: Dual-monitor setup with a resolution of at least 1920 x 1080 (recommended 2560 x 1440).
Graphics Card: For 3D features like Pro Panel, use an AMD or NVIDIA card with the latest Direct3D drivers. Software & OS Support Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only). EPLAN Electric P8 (Versions 2024/2025) requires a 64-bit
Office Compatibility: If you are importing/exporting data, a 64-bit version of Microsoft Office (365, 2021, or 2019) is required.
Server Requirements: For network installations, at least a 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor and 4 GB of RAM are recommended for the license server. Why These Specs Matter
Unlike basic drafting tools, EPLAN Electric P8 is an intelligent engineering system that handles automated reports, cross-references, and connection data in real-time. Lower RAM or using a standard HDD can lead to significant lag during automatic evaluations and schematic checks. Is EPLAN P8 compatible with Windows on ARM

Is EPLAN P8 compatible with Windows on ARM (Snapdragon X Elite)?
EPLAN has not announced official support for Windows ARM as of 2025. The x86 emulation layer may run the software, but performance and driver stability (licensing dongle, SQL) are unpredictable.
Terminal Server and VDI
If using a multi-user setup over WAN, EPLAN recommends:
- Windows Server 2019 / 2022 with RDS (Remote Desktop Services)
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (Version 7 2203 LTSR or newer)
- VMware Horizon (Version 8 or newer)
RAM per user on Terminal Server: Plan 8–12 GB per concurrent EPLAN user, plus 4 GB for the OS.
