EFEx handles the internal archives, but not always the final .3ds or .cia container. Once you have your repacked romfs or carc files: every file explorer 3ds repack

  2. Load your modified romfs.bin, exefs.bin, and exheader.bin.
  3. Rebuild into a .3ds or .cia format to play on your 3DS or emulator.

Step 1: Download Search for "Every File Explorer 3DS Repack" on reputable modding forums (like GBATemp or specific ROM hacking communities). Avoid shady "ad-fly" links if possible. Look for a .zip or .rar archive. Use a tool like HackingToolkit9DS or 3DS Builder

Step 2: The Keys 3DS files are encrypted. While some repacks include keys, you may need to provide your own bootrom.bin or keys file. If the program asks for keys, you can dump them from your own 3DS using tools like boot9strap and aeskeydb.

Step 3: Open Your Game

  1. Launch EveryFileExplorer.exe.
  2. Go to File > Open.
  3. Select your .3ds or .cia file.
  4. You will see a tree view of the file system. Expand "RomFS" to see game assets, or "ExeFS" to see the game's executable code.

Step 4: Edit and Save Let's say you want to edit a texture:

  1. Navigate to the texture folder.
  2. Find a .bclim file.
  3. Right-click and select "Export" (to save it as a PNG).
  4. Edit the PNG in Photoshop or GIMP.
  5. Right-click the file in EvFE again and select "Import/Replace."
  6. Save the new ROM file.

Method A: Install via FBI (If you already have CFW)

  1. Open FBI on your 3DS.
  2. Go to Remote Install → Scan QR Code.
  3. On your PC, go to the official GitHub release page for 3DShell.
  4. Click on the latest .cia release and generate a QR code (or use a QR conversion site).
  5. Scan the code with your 3DS. FBI will download and install it directly.
  6. Launch 3DShell from your home screen.
