Note: The HP ScanJet 200 is an older model (circa 2009–2012). It was designed for Windows 7, Vista, and XP. It has no native drivers for Windows 10/11, macOS 10.15+, or Chrome OS. However, a workaround exists for modern Windows.
Step 6 — Scan a test image
- Open the scanner application installed (HP Scan or HP Solution Center) or Windows Fax and Scan / Image Capture on macOS.
- Place a document face-down on the scanner glass.
- Choose scan settings: color vs. grayscale, DPI (200–300 dpi for documents; 300–600 dpi for photos), file format (PDF or TIFF for multipage; JPG for single photos).
- Preview, adjust cropping if needed, then perform the final scan and save to a folder.
Method 2: Windows Update (Alternative for Windows 10/11)

- Fix: Restart Windows into "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode (Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart > Press F7). Install the driver, then restart normally.
