Quick overview
This guide shows how to update the Huawei B312-926 (B312) router firmware to version 100.31.192.SP9C00 (or similarly numbered “10031h192sp9c00”) and includes steps for checking current firmware, downloading the update, preparing the device, upgrading, and troubleshooting. Follow steps exactly—firmware updates can permanently damage routers if interrupted or if incorrect firmware is used.
Is This Firmware Safe? Risks vs. Rewards
Step 5: Factory Reset (Highly Recommended)
- Once the update is finished, press and hold the physical Reset button (using a paperclip) for 15 seconds until all LEDs blink. This clears any residual carrier settings from the old firmware.
- Reinsert your SIM card.
Step 4 — Install the firmware
Method A — Web UI (most common)
- In router admin UI, find “System” → “Upgrade” or “Firmware Upgrade”.
- Choose the firmware file (no extraction unless instructions require it).
- Start the upgrade and DO NOT power off or reboot manually.
- Wait — the process may take several minutes; the router will show progress and then reboot automatically.
- After reboot, log in and verify the new firmware version in Device Information.
Method B — USB (if supported)
- Place the firmware file (often named update.zip or update_all.tar) in the root of a FAT32-formatted USB drive.
- Insert USB into router’s USB port.
- Use the admin UI or the router’s Update/USB upgrade function to start.
- Wait for completion and verify version after reboot.
Method C — Emergency/Recovery (only if failed)
- Some Huawei models support an emergency recovery via a TFTP server or special boot mode; consult hardware-specific instructions.
- This is advanced and carries risk—use only if device is unresponsive and you have correct recovery files.
Step 3 — Wait & Reboot
- Flash takes 3–5 minutes
- Router reboots automatically
- First boot: longer (2–3 min)
