IBM Storage Manager 10 — DS3500 UPD Download & Install Guide

Issue 3: "UPD" download is slow/broken from IBM.

Cause: IBM throttles legacy FTP downloads. Fix: Use the IBM Download Director instead of the browser HTTP download. The Director supports resumption of the 800MB+ UPD package.

Prerequisite: The "Management Station" Feature

To perform an update, you must have the IBM Storage Manager 10 Client (SMclient) installed. This is typically a Windows or Linux-based application used to manage the storage array.

3.3 Download via Storage Manager v10 GUI
