Kess V2 Install Windows 10
Kess V2 Install Windows 10 — Comprehensive Guide
Step 3: The Software Installation
- Disable Windows Defender Real-time protection (Temporarily).
- Navigate to your Kess V2 folder. Find
KSuite.msi or Setup.exe.
- Right-click → Properties → Compatibility.
- Check:
Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7.
- Check:
Run as Administrator.
- Run the installer. Install to
C:\Kess_V2 (Avoid Program Files due to permission issues).
How to disable temporarily (recommended):
- Hold
Shift and click Restart.
- Go to Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart.
- After restart, press
7 or F7 for “Disable driver signature enforcement”.
- Windows will boot. You must redo this after every reboot.
Alternatively, permanently disable test mode (less secure): Run bcdedit /set testsigning on as admin, reboot. The watermark “Test Mode” appears on desktop.
Step 4: Connect Kess V2 & Let Windows Recognize It
- Connect the Kess V2 to your PC via Micro-USB.
- Also connect 12V power (if your unit requires it – many clones draw power from USB, but that’s unstable).
- Windows will detect “STM32 Virtual COM Port” or “USB Serial Device”.
- Open Device Manager (
Win+X → M).
- Look under Ports (COM & LPT) – you should see STM32 Virtual COM Port (COMx).
- If you see a yellow exclamation mark → right-click → Update driver → Browse → Let me pick → Choose “USB Serial Device” or “FTDI” from list.
✅ Success indicator: No yellow triangle. COM port number is between 1–16 (higher can cause software issues). Kess V2 Install Windows 10
