Who is Kyouka Mashiba?

Kyouka Mashiba (also known as Mystras Leoxses in some translations, though "Kyouka" is her more common fan-known name) is a major supporting character in the Magi universe. She is a Knight of the Sacred Palace in the Parthevia Empire and later becomes one of King Sinbad’s most trusted allies and a General of the Sindria Kingdom.

She is a stoic, powerful, and deeply principled warrior known for her loyalty, her mastery of ice-based magic via a Metal Vessel, and her striking appearance: long white hair, blue eyes, and a perpetually serious expression.

Kyouka rarely smiles. She rarely panics. Even when facing down a floor boss or a horde of monsters, her expression remains a cold, calculating mask. This earns her the reputation of being "cold" or "inhuman" among lower-level adventurers.

However, this is a defense mechanism. As a frontline fighter in the Dungeon's deepest floors (Floor 50+), hesitation means death. Her silence is a discipline honed by years of surviving certain death.

Weaponry: Hachiyou

Her weapon is a custom-made silver greatsword. Unlike the magical blades used by other adventurers, Hachiyou is built for durability and sharpness. Kyouka maintains it obsessively, sharpening it every night. In the novels, it is stated that her sword is an extension of her nervous system; she can feel the air pressure around the blade.

2. Her Most Unique Trait: The Slave Reward System

Kyouka’s special ability is “Slave” — she can form a contract with Yuuki Wakura, turning him into a powerful monster-like fighter. But the twist: after battle, Yuuki gets to “reward” Kyouka (and later other chiefs) with a personalized ability based on his subconscious desires.
