Overview

The Lenovo IS6XM Rev 1.0 is a laptop motherboard model used in certain Lenovo notebook lines (commonly in IdeaPad/ThinkPad variants or OEM replacements). It integrates the CPU socket or soldered CPU, chipset, memory slots (SO-DIMM), storage interfaces (SATA/PCIe M.2), power delivery, onboard GPU (if applicable), wireless module slot, and laptop-specific connectors (display, keyboard, touchpad, speakers, battery, DC-in, USB, audio jack).

Processor (CPU) Support

  • Socket: LGA 1151.
  • Generations: Supports Intel 6th Generation (Skylake) and 7th Generation (Kaby Lake) Core processors.
    • Note: If you have an older Skylake board (Rev 1.0), installing a 7th Gen CPU often requires a BIOS update before the system will post.
  • TDP: Supports CPUs up to 65W (Standard T-series) or 95W depending on the chassis cooling solution.

Steps:

  1. Copy update files to USB root.
  2. Insert USB, start system, press F12 for boot menu.
  3. Select USB drive.
  4. The system will auto-run FLASH.BAT.
  5. Wait for "BIOS Update Successful" and 2 beeps.
  6. After reboot, press F1, load "Optimized Defaults", and save.

Manual warning: Downgrading BIOS is not supported on Rev 1.0 boards. Flashing a BIOS for a different Lenovo model will brick the motherboard.
