Antarvasna — सास, ससुर और बहू (हिंदी कहानी)

रवि के परिवार में पुराने रिवाज़ और नए सपनों का टकराव रोज़ की वास्तविकता थी। पटियाला के छोटे से शहर में उनके दो मंज़िला मकान की रसोई में वही खुशबू रहती—घी की, मसालों की, और यादों की—पर अब उसमें नई उम्मीदें भी गुर्राती थीं। रवि की पत्नी, नीलम, पढ़ी-लिखी, आत्मनिर्भर और शहर की नब्ज़ समझने वाली लड़की थी; सास-ससुर, निर्मला और हरिदास, परंपरा में दृढ़ और परिवार की इज्जत को सब कुछ मानते थे।

२.२. पहली उलझन

पहली रात, रश्मि ने सास के बड़े कमरे में रखे हुए गंधक (संधी) के बर्तन को देख कर एक छोटी‑सी उलझन में पड़ गई। वह मानती थी कि इस बर्तन में पारिवारिक शादियों की स्मृति है और इसे साफ़ करने का अधिकार केवल सास के पास है।

"दादी, क्या मैं इस बर्तन को धो सकती हूँ?" रश्मि ने धीरे‑धीरे पूछा।

गीता देवी ने अचानक उठते हुए कहा, "यह बर्तन हमारी परम्परा का हिस्सा है। इसे मैं ही साफ़ करूँगी। तुम्हें मेरे द्वारा दिया गया काम ही करना चाहिए।"

रश्मि ने अपने हाथ में पकड़ी हुई गंधक की थाली को धीरे‑धीरे नीचे रख दिया और अपने मन में सोचने लगी—क्या यह छोटा‑सा टकराव आगे बड़े झगड़े का कारण बन सकता है?
