NS Audio The BeatKrusher is a multi-effect plug‑in focused on rhythmic bit‑crushing, sample‑rate reduction, and creative digital distortion designed to produce glitchy, lo‑fi, and aggressive textures for drums, synths, percussion and full mixes. It combines classic sample‑rate/bit‑depth reduction with tempo‑synced modulation, filter and drive stages, and a flexible routing matrix to shape stereo image and dynamics.

Windows

1. Download the installer .exe file.
2. Run the installer as administrator.
3. Select your VST3 folder (default: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3).
4. Choose whether to install AAX (Pro Tools) if applicable.
5. Complete the installation.

4.1 Bit Crusher (Quantization Distortion)

• Bit Depth (1–16 bits) – Reduces resolution, adding digital noise and harmonic distortion. Lower values = more extreme.
• Dither – On/Off. Adds noise shaping to smooth out the most aggressive quantization artifacts.

4.3 Pre/Post Filters

• Low‑cut (20 Hz – 2 kHz) – Removes low end before crushing (cleaner result).
• High‑cut (1 kHz – 20 kHz) – Rolls off harsh aliasing after reduction.
• Resonance – Emphasizes frequencies near the cutoff point.
