You can open a 2021 project in System Builder 2024, but you must never save it in the new format if you ever intend to go back. Use "Save As..." and keep a .dsb_2021 backup.

Because this is a 2021 software package, it was designed to run on hardware and OS standards of that era. However, installing it on modern Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022 requires compatibility tweaks.
