The Future: More DLC or New Content?

Capcom has unofficially ended major support for RE4 Remake. However, rumors of a “Gold Edition” including all DLC on a single PKG for offline installation persist on PS4. If released, that would combine base game + updates + Separate Ways + costumes into one ~45 GB PKG, eliminating the need for manual patching.

Also, a fan-made “RE4 HD Project” has been discussed for PS4 homebrew—similar to the PC mod, enhancing textures without performance loss. That would be distributed as a patch PKG.

Installation Guide: How to Install RE4 Remake PKG + Update + DLC on PS4

This section is strictly for users with a jailbroken PS4 on firmware 9.00 or lower (or using a backported PKG for higher firmware).

What you need:

Steps:

  1. Install Base Game
    Copy Resident_Evil_4_Remake_Base.pkg to a USB drive.
    On PS4, go to Settings > Debug Settings > Game > Package Installer.
    Install the base PKG. Wait ~10 minutes.

  2. Apply Updates in Order
    Install Update_1.04.pkg, then 1.05.pkg, then 1.06.pkg, up to the latest.
