Hardware Version Matters. You stated you have a Version 5 (V5). Do not attempt to flash firmware intended for V1, V2, or the "G+" variants (WR340G+). Doing so will permanently "brick" (destroy) your router. Always verify your version on the sticker on the bottom of the device.
