The Ultimate Guide to USB Mouse Rate Adjuster: Setup, Download, and How It Works

Step 3: Run the USB Mouse Rate Adjuster

  1. Right-click USBMouseRateAdjuster.exe (or similar name) and select Run as Administrator.
  2. You’ll see a simple GUI with dropdown options:
    • Default (125 Hz / 8 ms)
    • 250 Hz (4 ms)
    • 500 Hz (2 ms)
    • 1000 Hz (1 ms)
  3. Select 1000 Hz.
  4. Click Apply or Install.

7) Troubleshooting

  • If polling rate won’t change: try different USB port (use USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0), reinstall drivers, or use vendor software to reset device.
  • If cursor stutters at higher rates: lower the rate (or update firmware/firmware-only tools).
  • If settings revert after unplugging: use vendor firmware flasher if available to write changes persistently (follow vendor instructions exactly).

Step 4: Reboot and Verify

  1. Restart your PC (required for driver reload).
  2. Run mouserate.exe again as admin.
  3. Move the mouse aggressively. You should now see values between 900–1010 Hz.

Congratulations – your USB mouse is now operating at full speed.
