When to call the manufacturer or a certified technician

Phase B: Mechanical Cleaning

  1. Casing Removal: Remove the front and top panels of the boiler casing.
  2. Burner Removal:
    • Disconnect the ignition electrodes and ionization probe cables.
    • Undo the union nut connecting the gas pipe to the burner manifold.
    • Undo the screws securing the burner assembly. Slide the burner unit out carefully.
  3. Cleaning the Heat Exchanger:
    • Using a stiff wire brush and a vacuum cleaner, clean the heating surfaces (pins/tubes) of the heat exchanger.
    • Note: Do not use water or solvents; dry mechanical cleaning is preferred for atmospheric cast iron/aluminum heat exchangers.
  4. Cleaning the Burner:
    • Inspect the burner bars for debris or carbon buildup.
    • Clean the gas injection nozzles (orifices) using compressed air. Do not insert metal tools into the nozzles, as this will damage the calibrated holes and alter the gas rate.
    • Ensure the air inlet slots on the mixer tubes are free of dust.

Scenario 3: Oil Pressure Fluctuates Wildly

Step 1: Go to the oil pump diagram (Section B, Figure B-17). Step 2: Check the difference between one-pipe and two-pipe setups. The manual clarifies that for lifts >4 meters, a two-pipe system with a de-aerator is mandatory. Step 3: Adjust the pressure regulating valve. Factory setting for G7 1-d: 12 bar. Do not exceed 15 bar or the pump seal will fail. Weishaupt G7 1-d Service Manual
